The foal has distinctive zebra stripes on parts of its body, while brown fur covers the
rest. According to zoo staff the male youngster is the result of a natural breeding between a female zebra and a male donkey. Since the zebra shares her enclosure with three male donkeys, it is not known which one is the father. Zebra and donkey crossbreeds are known by a number of different names, including: zonkey, zebonkey, zebrinny, zebrula, zebrass and zedonk.
