Taking a free ride or saving his nest?

A tiny King bird drives a red tailed hawk away from its nest on a lake in Colorado, USA. The plucky bird sat on the predator’s back and pecked its head forcing the bird of prey to look for easier pickings elsewhere.

There is an Inuit (Canadian Eskimo) legend that birds lined up for a race to obtain their songs — the fastest birds would get the more beautiful songs — so a little bird won the race by hopping on the back of an eagle — however, because he cheated, he was banned to the deep forest so that few people would ever hear his beautiful song.
