Rhino populations are down to just a few thousand members remaining — mostly as a result of human activity — and WildiZe has made the conservation of these animals a priority. Says Weiss:
Poaching and habitat loss are the biggest killers, reducing the world rhino population from around half a million at the turn of the century to fewer than a few thousand surviving today. WildiZe has helped to fund security efforts in the Mkomazi Rhino Sanctuary in Tanzania (with the George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust) and the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary in Kenya (Tsavo National Park).
