BEIJING, Feb. 1 — Eight pigs in Chaolian, a county in Jiangmen, Guangdong
Province solved the mystery of their theft earlier this month when they
walked from their abductor’s farm to their rightful pigsty 1 kilometer away
on January 11.
The stolen swines belonged to a man surnamed Chen who reported their
disappearance to police who surmised that another farmer surnamed Cen had
nabbed the pigs.
Cen denied it but at the suggestion of the local Animal Husbandry Bureau,
his pig pen was opened to see if any walked out. Eight did and walked
straight back to their old wallow at Chen’s place. Cen, meanwhile, confessed
on the spot.
